I am a member of the Law Society of British Columbia. I maintain professional liability insurance in accordance with the minimum compulsory requirements of the Law Society of British Columbia[1].

I am also a freelance solicitor regulated by the UK Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA number 262775).

  • As a freelance solicitor, I work in my own name as as a sole practitioner (without employees), and I only provide non-reserved legal services[2] direct to my clients. I am not required to maintain professional indemnity. Accordingly, my clients may not be covered by the SRA minimum terms and conditions of professional indemnity insurance. I do, however, maintain alternate professional liability insurance on a voluntary basis [1]. The SRA also maintains a compensation fund for client protection in specific situations SRA.

  • Complaints: If you have any complaints about my services as a freelance solicitor, please raise them directly with me in the first instance. If the complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may refer your concern to either the Legal Ombudsman on 0300 555 0333 / Ombudsman UK or to the SRA. Any complaint should be made within six months of a final response to your complaint from me, and no more than six years from the date of the act/ omission or three years from when you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint.
